My 2001 Sport Trac has intermittently not started recently. When it is working well, it starts right up. when it won't start, it sounds as if it is not getting any fuel. Sometimes it will start on the second try and sometimes it may take 5 or more attempts over an hour or longer. No battery or starter problems are apparent. Is there a possibility of fuel pressure intermittent probs?

..Welcome here..:D

You may get more replies if your location is under your name..I also see it says 2001 Explorer sport there...Do you also have a Sport besides your Sport Trac?

..I'm moving your thread over to a sub forum where others may see it and will be able to help you out ..;)

When you turn the key to the position just before the starter engages, you should hear the quick, 1-2 second buzz of the fuel pump. Could be that it is starting to fail, if so eventually it will fail completely and the truck will not start at all.

Had this issue with mine.. Ended up being the fuel Pump.. Sometimes it would start, sometimes it wouldn't.. Even had significant fuel to the rail.. Weird.. Then Finally narrowed it down and said screw it. Replaced fuel pump.. Problem solved.
