intermittent wiper problem

you can try popping off the end cap, CAREFULLY remove the ribbed grip, the spring, and don't lose the cotter pin. Clean up the connections in there, re-grease it, and reassemble. If it doesn't work, your switch is probably toast.

I need to try this, my switch works okay but it's a huge pain to get the windsheild washers to activate.

My wipers , sunroof and Windows all stopped working at one time. I don't have an owners manual and haven't gotten a repair manual for it yet but the one plus - I no longer have a drain on my battery. If anyone has a fuse schematic for 97 mountaineer, please post it if you don't mind, it would really help. Then hopefully I can chase down the shorts. Lol
