I just got the Kenwood KCA-iP500 iPod™ Control Interface for my kenwood deck and thought I would explain a bit about its features.
The concept is great how it intergrates into your exsisting system but the functionality is not all there like it is with in the ipod.
First off i have a kenwood KDC-MP6025 reciever with the sirius radio KTC-SR902 Satellite Tuner. Great thing about this was it had a slave input for the ipod ip500 so i did not need another box to split the signals. The only problem is that you are unable to seach thru the songs by title, artist, or album. The only way to go thru songs is by play lists or one huge library of songs which would take for ever to find one song in 2100 songs. When its hooked up you can no long accesse the ipod functions on the ipod either. So, there is no work around for this.
I like the idea of the cable but it would be great if kenwood would do some sort of update for there decks to implement the ipod's functionality fully.
