is a cd changer a good idea?

Is a 10 disc cd changer a good thing to have? I have been thinking about getting one and just wanted some feed back about if they are good and work well.

I have a Sony unit and I love it. Plays normal cd's and those I've written with no skips or any other problem.

just got me a sony 10 disc unit, model number 454RF any ideas on where to mount it? will it fit in the console of a 94?

I have mine under the rear seat with the controls just above the ashtray.

good idea just remember to never fold the seat down lol

I have it screwed to the floor under the single seat and I can still fold the seat fully. It just fits play with it loose and try.

ahh i see, my seats look like the fold down to the floor I may be wrong though just wanted to check before i put it therethat or maybe 2nd gen seats are different

Changers are not needed with a MP3 capable HU .

I LOVE my CD changer.

Grab ten CD's ( or what ever respective amount )
Set it at full random and it will play one song form one CD and one fron the next. It is great.
Espicially when you listen to a great variety of music.
Imagine Shania Twain, followed by, Metalica.

If you don't like changing CD's then it's great, I have a Sony, probably 2 years old, works perfect! Got it on eBay for $50 but had to buy a 3 foot cable for $30. I just put new CD's I get in place of ones I never listen to, and plus my CD player is 1 more CD, so there's 11 total. CD Changers are great!

I used to use the changer all the time. Now I listen to XM all the time. I still have a single in dash cd for backup.

I had a 6 disc changer in my old Acura... I liked it for a while, but frankly, doing chinese-fire drills at stop lights to change cds (it was in the trunk) got annoying. I always tried to install customer cd changers within reach of the driver, or a passenger ~ so there is some chance of changing cds while in the car. My problem was, I was too lazy to change cd's, and would get sick of hearing the same 6 discs, but could never change them until I got to a reeaaaaallly long light.

But I will say MP3 players rock! My Kenwood is CD-RW compatible, so I can burn disgusting amounts of music over and over again... only problem about MP3 is the decreased audio quality ~ which you really won't hear unless you have a good system, but if you have good highs, you'll most definately be able to tell that its an MP3!
