I am thinking of putting a hitch on my 00 Explorer Ltd. I have see all the hitches that look like they just drop right on to the frame, 3 bolts later your done. Is it really that easy???

Also I have the pre wiring for trailer lights, would that be something I but on as I need them, or just plug it in and forget about it?

4 bolts, and yes it is that easy unless your frame has been tweaked form an accident.
 






Cool good to know. I was afraid I was missing a "step" that everybody knew already. Do u have any recommendations on brands or are they all about the same?

Hidden Hitch, Draw-Tite, Reese are all Cequent Technologies products.

U-Haul buys their hitches from Curt, Cequent, and Valley.

All of the hitches are produced by Cequent, or Valley Industries for the Explorer.

If you have a choice, the hidden hitch style hitches seem to look the best, IMHO...
