After the last update on my mft to the 3.6 I have gotten weird issues with my media player that I have not found a solution to and that others have also had.

But with my previous version I believe was 3.2 everything work as you would expect. The only change I saw was the temp next to the time.

So is there a way to reinstall an older version of MFT?

The previous version was 3.5.1. It is possible that were more than 1 update behind. You may have had 3.2.2 installed.

I'm not sure if the MFT software can be moved back. I guess it all depends on if each verion completely erases what was there or simply modifies or adds to it. Rebecca should be able to answer that question. If she doesn't respond to your post you can always send her a PM using the following link;

You will have to request that they (IVT) send you the latest update on a USB flash drive when that happens. That is what I had to do when it told me that 3.5.1 was the latest update.
I assume that the dealer must have updated your software to 3.6.2 if that is what you have now. I don't know if you can go back or not in versions. The best thing would be to try and solve your current issue. Rebecca may be ab;le to help with that.

MFT only got somewhat stable in version 3.6.2, why would anyone ever want to go back to instability and poor performance?

Do a Master Reset then battery disconnect see if that fixes your issues.

If not, Im guessing you need new APIM.

You cannot go back to previous versions. Actually a dealer could do it but most won't. What is the media issue you having?

Hi, Londo M,

While it's not impossible to revert it back, we don't generally do it. Like Lewisra stated, you'd have to find a dealership that is willing to do this and also has access to the older versions of software. What kind of issues are you having with your media device, and what type of device is it?

The issues are with the previous version when using my creative zen player shuffle play did just that. If I stopped in the middle of a song, stopped and restarted the car it would pickup where it left off. It took me 3 months to play all my music little by little 1207 song and albums this way.
With the newest it plays a shuffle order but it is always the same order. Any time I restart my car the zen starts over with the same first song {an elo tune] and plays the same songs in the same shuffled order. I have tried 2 different players and 2 different versions of my music file. same results but different first song over and over.
Google it and there are alot of posts with different players and different ford cars with 3.6 mft.

This issue was reported to my support shortly after v3.6.2 came out. I do have a few questions for you though: do you keep your player plugged in at all times, does it index again when you turn on your Explorer, and do you have SHUFFLE on on your ZEN, MFT, or both?

Rebecca

The player is always plugged in and on. It indexes every time I switch to the usb player even if I switch to xm radio and back it will index. It starts with only showing one song and then slowly build to 1207. I have tried all 4 combinations of just play and shuffle between the two. no difference. today I tried the same music file in a 2013 freightliner with a factory xm radio with a usb on the front. It does not have the shuffle feature but if I switch between usb and the radio it does pickup where it left off. My 3.6 version was sent to me on a usb stick.

That's not normal behavior. Indexing should only happen if you make changes to your iPod, add a new device, or after a master reset. I suggest contacting your dealership so they can find out what's happening.

which is why I wanted to be able to revert to an earlier version.
