is it worth it?

my engine is loosing power, knocks, and whines, with ALOT OF miles, and my tranny tourque convertor is going bad along with the rest of my tranny. is it worth replacing the engine, tranny with a lightly used one? the other things that need to be done is fix E brake. i just dont know any more if its worth to keep puttin money into any thoughts , ideas? money is tight! no job or nothin right now.... and so ya, i dont think im going to be able to wrestle, because i have no money for gas, and i have no money for gas , because i dont have a job. and i dont have a job, since economy sucks, and wrestling takes up alot of time. then ALOT Of money is tryin to keep this things runin

Thats a tough one. Either way you are looking at some $$. I know (depending on mileage) you could have a 4r70W trans for between $250-600 add a low mileage 5.0L for the same $250-$500 plus hassle of swapping

well the cheapest i found both of them was $1650, and that was backed by 3 year warranty , and the engine i believe had 30,*** on it...
which right now im piss ant broke...
