Does anyone know of a company who makes a body lift for late model explorers, im looking for a 2" kit? Or any kit that can be converted for use on the explorer?
I'd like to start off by welcoming you to the site. There's just about everything you'll need all right here.
As for the body lift. Sort-of?:?:?:? You can use a body lift for some of the pre95 Explorers and do a few mods to make it work on the newer ones. There has been several people here that have done this. I know that GJarret has done this to his a while back. I'm sure 4wheelparts should be able to work with you on some of the mods needed to perform this.
You would be able to get 3" out of some lifts but if you're willing to go a bit less you can do about a 2" lift without a problem. Check out the "explorer tips" page for some info on performing a "torsion twist". It's the way several people on the board lifted their newer explorers. You can do this for about $100 tops and an afternoon in the driveway.
i have done a little thought and i think i will do the torsion twist with the warrior shackles. i was also thinking that i have an old 3" body lift from a different vehicle i was going to cut those down to 1 1/2" then buy longer bolts and work out any problems as i get to them. but i have other projects also so i dont know when ill get around to it. thanks for the info though.
