hey cain, I got that kit today #883, goin to install it this weekend, ran $140 with shipping and got in 3 days, im lookin for a place to get some 33's at a good price now. I talked to a few ford techs and it seems to be fairly easy, I also got a tech to help install it. cant wait to get it done. later.

Like I already said, You need the 95-97 kit which is kit 853 and FRONT bumper brackets from the 883 kit.

ok now I get it......

thanks guys....

I hope u won't get mad at me..... I'm slow somwtimes....

I really appreciate it....

one more thing.... what steering xtension should I get?

the 853's?

If you get the kit #853, then it will come with the correct steering extension. You won't need to purchase another one, just purchase kit #853 and the front bumper brackets from kit #883.

I'm not mad, I just get frustrated when people skim thru posts without actually reading them.

I'm reading them

I'm sorry 2001export....

I'm sorry dude.... I tried to read it over and over agian

It's ok, no need to apologize. I wasn't trying to single you out.

I imagine it does! Yes I think that's the kit for you. A 15x8 rim will reduce rubbing considerately as well. Also, it doesn't matter if it's 2 door 4 door.

Hey there guy's i read this post and it does get a little confusing. I allready did the add a leaf and spindle on my 1997 explorer but i want to lift it a little more i kind of wanted to do a 2 inch body lift on it but i don't think they make one please correct me if i am wrong. So if i went to offroadwarehouse right know i should order

the body lift number #883 for 98-01 AND i need to change the steering extesion for the one that come with the 853 kit for 95-97 ??????.

Or i allso see that i can get the kit #853 for the 95-97 AND i need to get the front bumber brackets from the #883 kit 98-01 ??????/

what combo should i go with will it be easier to get a new steering exetion from the #853 kit and purchase the #883 kit...

Or will it be easier to get the bumber brackets from the #883 kit and purchase the #853 kit.?

I really apprecatie the help just it just get really confusing about what kit to go with i guess it boils down to is it easier to get the brackets from #883 or the exetion from #853

Thanks guy's and Ladies

I think i found a place that will get me the 883 kit and order the extension from the 853 kit. You know what it's funny i called offroadwarehouse i told them that i needed the 883 kit and the extension fom the 853 kit and they where like hold please they called PA and Pa was like well why does your custmer need that for lol they must know some thing's up i was think maybe just getting the 853 kit and getting the bumber bracket i could just say i messed my other one's up insted of saying that the extension broke or some thing you know well i just want to say my 2 cent for you other's out there try to get the kit for your x.

What do you guy's think 883 and get the extension from 853?.

OR 853 kit and get the bracket from the 883?.

Was just woundring what's the reason why the braket are diffrent is it because of the diffrent bumbers can the new bumber (98-01) fit on a 95-97 explorer and use those same bracket that come in the 883 kit.?

Any one ????????

:redexp: explorer are the best yeah so is this site good info on here

Two bumber brackets from kit # 883 and shipping costs about $30 less than one steering extension from kit # 853 and shipping. Unless the place you are buying from is doing an even swap and not charging you extra, it is cheaper to order kit # 853 and then the bumper brackets from kit # 883. It's also easier to explain that you got in an accident which bent your bumper brackets.

Yes, Offroad Warehouse is well aware of people buying the PA kit for the Explorer. They will sell you the kit, but they will not let you switch parts. I got a similar line from them two years ago when I bought my lift from them. They supposedly called PA and were told that PA would not sell the parts individually. I believe I told them at the time that I was putting it on an Explorer so I'm sure that had a lot to do with their decision. The funny thing is one of the Offroad Warehouses was one of the first places to actually use the PA kit on an Explorer. I spoke to the person that supposedly was involved with the lift and he claimed that they cut the front frame horns off the frame and rewelded them on three inches higher to mount the bumper. He didn't sound too convincing though.

Yeah i hear you well hey thank's very much for the info i really appreciate it i am going to go order the 853 kit and get the bumber brackets from 883 once again thank's

Thanks
