Jensen is low quality stuff. I'd rather save up...its ok for a cheap indash though. I'd never buy one.

If you read the specs it says.

DVD Playback Yes...from website yes it does play dvd's ...jensen is a little bit better than say your flea market stuff but its far better if you just want dvd capability and don't want to pay like 6 or 700 for something else...

like the previous posters said, jensen isn't necessarily bad, but its not that good either. basically, its the best of the off brands, but the worst of the name brands.(if that makes sense). i have installed a few jensen units and have never had any problems with them. i personally would rather use jensen than sony xplod, but thats not what this thread is about. for the price tag of $283, its not a bad unit. i wouldn't put it in my car, but i am kind of partial to alpine.

my best friend has that headunit and he loves it , i also have a jensen headunit but it's the first touchscreen one that they came out with

I've installed several of that exact unit, and every person has been quite happy. It is a very capable unit. The DVD/Video section is one of the best going. It does lack a bit on sound quality, though. The screen is fantastic, though I've heard they use screens from 2 manufacturers, one good, one bad. Crutchfirld is great to buy from, if you don't like it, just swap it.

I've had two jensens. Mt first one was a UV8 and it worked fine, never ahd a problem witih it. But I wanted iPod control, so I got a VM9511ts, which was a last years model kind of thing. And I've had nothing but problems with that one. It's been sent out twice because it makes scratching noises when playing dvd/cds. But only sometimes it does it. Also it wouldn't read the SD cards in the SD slot, and wouldn't read my burnt dvds. All of which it was supposed to do. It has to be sent back again because it won't read burnt dvds again and it makes the scratching noise again.

I would maybe check out other peoples experience with whichever one you go for. The UV8 I had has really good reviews from everyone online, yet the Vm9511ts has alot of bad reviews. At my work they actually ended up throwing away like 3 of them cause they had so many problems and wasn't worth sending it back again. All in all, it's a hit or miss on which model you will like and which you will hate, I believe.

I get all my car audio stuff from SonicElectronix.com. They give you all the free stuff like Crutchfield does, but its so much cheaper. If you're set on Jensen, I think all of thier stuff is on sale this week.
