Ok yesterday when I had the hood up I noticed something that look a bit odd to me. The tranny line running to the top of the radiator had a little twist/crimp in it. Not sure if it is supposed to be this way or not.
Heres a picture.

If this is not how it is supposed to be can I fix it by cutting the line and putting rubber line in place of it? Or is there a better way? I plan to install a cooler and filter in the spring.

no. that is what happens when you don't use a spanner wrench or penetrating oil to remove the trans line. It is twisted and is definitely restricting flow to the cooler. You can get a replacement fitting and a section or rubber high pressure hose to replace the damaged section.

Thanks I didn't think it was supposed to be that way but you never know they make some crazy designs.

So where can I pick up the new fittings? I know I can get the hose from Advanced. And does anyone know if the top is the feed or the return for the transmission?

You can get a barbed fitting from the auto parts store that can be screwed directly into the radiator. If they don't have the right size you may have to order it online from a transmission parts outlet.
