members i am totally confused as to what transmission i have in my 97 explorer 4x4 4.0 6 cylinder i have the case #,s case p97gt-7006-bbr, bell housing97gt7a834-ac what transmission is this? i would like to know what transmission is in my 97 explorer awd eddie bauer with 5.0 v8. i have been reading the forums and i am confused. i have read charts but they confuse me more. i have a spare trans that came out of this xlt 4x4 and i want to try my hand at up grading it . other wise it is dead weight to me if i cant trust it.
how do i look for other bad hard parts> this trans only has 132000 on it. is it the ones that crap out and most time be fixed reasonablly. thanks in advance.
