Is your tachometer perfectly steady at idle?

here's a video of my 1993 ford explorer at idle is that normal movement at idle or should it be absolutely steady no movement whatsoever a/c is off

Is there an issue you're tracking down? Otherwise that's not bad at all. My idle tents to hunt +/-50 RPMs I'd say. if your concerned about it (I wouldn't be) you can get one of those handheld tachs to verify.

That's pretty good for a 30 year old engine. I've had my 1994 since 1995. It's always had a occasional very slight shudder when at idle. My mechanic brother-in-law said most of the 4.0's do that.

Ahh I was wondering when it's over 90 degrees F it's dead steady but in cooler Temps it hunts a little bit about 50 rpms I just wanted to verify I didn't have a issue

It runs out great engine was rebuilt less than 2000 miles ago completely overhauled I just wanted to make sure that what it was doing at idle wasn't a issue it fluctuates about 50rpms
