I have a 2001 sport and am thinking of buying one of the JET chips for my truck. I wanted to ask if anyone has any experience with JET for the late model 4.0L. Any comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There was just a recent post on here about some one having problems w/ their jet chip. Nuff said. Go to bamachips.com and get a custom tune from doug on one of the SCT tuners. Good luck

Jet chip. Run away. Far and fast. Run away.

i bought a jets chip a few years back total waste of money no difference in any thing what so ever

Thanks for info everyone. I'll probably spend the money on a locker anyway. Bamachips looks like something good for the near future too.

Bama! Bama! Bama! :D

Yeah, Bama. Same price as a locker, much easier to install! Good luck,

Does this "Bama" place have a link someone could post? Do they have an application for the 96 4.0L?

bamachips.com

Yeah, bamachips.com. And yes, I'm running a tune for my 4.0 OHV v6 1996 right now. You may wanna go to SCT (the parent company) and look thru their forums and do some research then contact Doug (bamachips) about purchasing one. SCT (Super Chips Tuners) is http://www.sctflash.com/ They make the products, then their dealers make the tunes and sell them. Doug has been known to produce some sweet tunes for all the v6's You can see his own vehicles on the bamachips site.

Awsome, thanks for the info. I have been very impressed with JET's products, but that is in different applications (On Pontiac Bonneville's). I'll probably look into getting a chip later this winter for the X.

wow even though i wasnt the one asking the question i already have a answer to it . i was going to go with a jet chip but wasnt to thrilled with the rating's on it . it looks like bama is the way to go hopefully they have something for me
