I've never used one, but the general consensus on the board is that you're far better off with a tuner.

NO NO NO NO NO, did I say no? Jet products are pretty much all junk. Get an sct x-cal 3 or livewire from www.hensonperformance.com it's the only way to go when it comes to tuning one of these. He is a vendor here on the forum, goes by Jah81592. And he'll take great care of you, his customer service is great.

That's what I thought....Jet is saying about 15 - 18 HP increase ....my Exp is a stock 5.0 will have a CAI in about 2 weeks along with new Flowmaster exhaust...already got rid of 2 Converters.....Headers will be next year, so will the X3 increase HP as well???? what do you think it will do based on the above (before Headers)....still got those running boards?

Yeah it'll probably get similar power to that, the big benefit is the firmer shifts in the transmission, and general improvements in driveablity. A good tune will make it drive like a different truck. With all of my parts the difference of having the tune and not was 6 tenths of a second, in back to back runs. And obviously the more aftermarket parts you have, the more the tuner will help. Honestly though, I would buy the headers first, and then the tuner so you don't have to buy a 2nd set of tunes.

yes I still have the running boards.
