JET Power Chips

Has anyone dealt with JET Power Chips and Modules? I was thinking of buying one. Just wondering is it a drastic change in performance and is it worth the $300. Thanks for the advice.

I have a jet chip in my 98 Sport 4.0sohc w/borla, KKM an dlove it I found mine for $250 saw a big dif. in off the line performence and shift points when climbing hills! also my boss has a jet on his 98 F-250 4.6 and feels the same!

I've got a jet chip it seemed to help the shift points but is Expensive. I've heard that the super chip is better because they make it special for your truck.

How about performance improvement for less money? You can get a Hypertech power module for a lot less than a Jet. I got mine for $187 from roadstore.com! Works great! Good Luck!

I installed a JET chip in my 99 SOHC and had nothing but problems with it. At first it seem to help out shifting, but that's all it did. My wife does drag racing down at the local track and sometimes I would take my Explorer out there as well. With the chip installed I actually got slower times. I couldn't believe it. I would actually take the chip out and put it back in at the track. Everytime I was slower with the chip. I also had problems with it stalling my vehicle. I would be going down the freeway and my Explorer would just stall. Not much fun when you're doing 70mph. I finally removed it and have not tried another. I personally don't think it was worth the money. I would like to try a custom chip that is designed around the other additions I have done. Just wanted to let everyone know my experience with the JET chip.

Haven't dealt with them before. The only things I've ever heard about them have been on this site. It all seems to be good.

Ok, I went on the RoadStore Website and found the Hypertech Module for $187, just like kelly had posted. Now this is my question...Is the Module all i need or is there some kind of chip I need also? Sorry I'm kinda new at dealing with Chips and Modules. Thanks for the replies.
