Your disconnect pins look just like the one's I built a few years back, and described above. I think they'll work well for you, and the price is pretty right!
Yes I think the will make my stocker a bit more capeable (sp?). I was thinking of making them before this thread came up then when you described yours Ray, I made them. Thanks for the idea. Oh yea, total cost $5.
does anyone have pictures of front swaybar disconnects on a 95-97 explorer that they have made themselves? I am looking for a cheap way to make some disconnects and i need some ideas so i think pics might help. thanks.
bluethunder,
I had these made for me when I had my 4" lift put in, but they are actually adjustable swaybar links with disconnects from a J@@p. I have the part number for them at home. I believe they come in different lengths, these were the longest we could get. The bottom U shaped portion came from Warrior products and we just added a long enough bolt that would fit the bushings and all, then all I have to do is pull the pin on the bottom, and I also had him make pull pin for the top. I would have to look at the invoice sheet to see how much the parts cost. The adjustable sway bar link I'm sure was not cheap, but concidering that the only other person to make a quick disconnect charges I believe $117.00, I think I paid alittle more than that. Drew Perrson out of Visaila CA. is the only person that I know of that makes quick disconnects for the late model Explorers. The only problem is that he is so behind on his works that he isn't even taking any new orders for another 3 months, which is why I had Trains 4x4 build these.
This is what it looked like before
This is the new disconnect that is a swivel bushing on the bottom where the pull pin is inserted.
