not working

try again....

Some people....... Explain that one to the insurance company.

Ouch!

man that sucks! But I've been out to silver lake and I can see how they can do it... sometimes I had to slow way down as I was approaching the "Crest" to avoid getting massive air like that and I know several times I had all four tires in the air, not nearly that high and not that bad of an impact! LOL

that sux.....i could see it happenening....that looks like a real low spot on the hill so it seems that he wanted to get some air....but I don't think that is what he had in mind.

Wonder how bad 95XLT's was compared to that? I know he totalled his truck launching off a dune

What a complete moron! I hate people with no respect for their vehicles......

I HIGHLY doubt that he had that in mind.

This is the thing that really bugs me about the dunes. I have been going there since I was like 3, and have spent many summers up there. I dont like people like that, who try to tear it up, by going way to fast, like he was. If he would have slowed down a little bit, he wouldnt have ruined his truck. Same with 95XLT...But as far as this chebie goes, he could have landed on an ATV or dirt bike, and it woulda killed the person on the bike. There have been a lot of accidents up there from people just plain being stupid...Lets use some common sense, eh?

And I wonder why alcohol has been banned in the park...(it wasnt a couple years ago:confused: )

vairking, no accidents when we go in a month!

Hey I baby my truck when I wheel it...Lord know what shape the ball joints are in, one little jump could do it in:(

Brilliant!

He probably would not have that much damage had he landed on solid ground. Sure the frame and suspension might be worse but hitting the sand like that likely was very hard. All that sand must have slowed him down quite a bit.

He ruined his truck, but at least he got it on tape to remember what not to do next time.

Twenty bucks says that guy was an idiot high school (maybe college) kid and that his dad bought him that truck.

Nobody I know would do something so stupid with a truck that they put 15 grand of their own money into.

*sigh* Stupidity should be painful.

I dunno darkman, quite honestly on those dunes sometimes you don't realize how quickly your approaching a crest, and some of the dunes have a big level crest for you to drive on and some have a sharp abrupt crest which gives you awesome air. I know I made the mistake when I was out in the dunes a few times, but I never had that much power going to where I launched it that far... probably just a really bad judgement call that he will end up having to pay...

I agree with Matt....and even if he did want to get "some air"....I am sure he misjudged what he needed to get it.
