Junk yard trip today

@410Fortune I went on a junkyard trip today for a couple of different Explorers. I bought an exterior door handle off of a '97 2 door. It's made of metal. I couldn't find a dark color handle for my dark blue truck. It is red, like fire engine red. It's going on the beater anyway. I couldn't find a left rear tail lamp in good enough condition to be $40-. I located one on e-bay for a reasonable price.
For the red1991 4dr 4wd, I found a good salt free transmission crossmember and the special bolts. ~$45- with tax. I was glad to get it. I've missed out on about 5. By the time I would get back to the junkyard, the truck was crushed.

$40 FO R A TAIL LIGHT? 45 FOR A CROSSMEMBER? OMG those guys are priced WAY HIGH
I can ship you tail lights for cheaper then this!!
This would be like $20-25 for both around here

LKQ, they have set prices. They are very hard to deal with. They charge a bogus environmental fee. I hate Franchise junkyards. I'll pm you about tail lights soon. Probably not tonight. Getting late for me here in central time zone. That would be 1997 tail lights.

You can get a brand new aftermarket copy tail lamp on ebay for $45. I have a complete OEM set of lights for my 1994, but I need to keep them because the day i get rid of one will be the day I break one.
