- 04 Mountaineer AWD
I drive a 2004 Mountaineer AWD 4.0L FFV. It was built in Sept 03.
I get roughly 15-16 city and 19-21 highway. I'm not a granny driver either, I give it hell when I need to and go normal when I dont need to speed or anything.
I can average a 350 mile round trip and still have a 1/4 tank left. On the highway I can easily get about 375-400 miles on tank.
The I bought my truck in Nov 07 with 38k and it's currently got 62k on it. I've only changed the plugs and wires and put an idler pulley on it. Almost forgot, I changed the battery about 2 weeks ago, just pulled the factory battery out.
I guess my truck was built on a Wednesday. I've never had any major problems from it. Moe ( my Mountaineer's name ) has always been a good vehicle to me, even better than my previous Honda's.
After reading through the site here, I've realized that I am really lucky I guess. Moe has been a trooper, went from snow and ice, to sandy beaches and then back into rain.
I drove it from Altus OK ( where I currently live ) to Dayton Ohio ( where I'm from ) to Ft Lauderdale FL, then to San Antonio Tx and back to Altus. Not one hiccup or mechanical problem just smooth sailing.
What's the deal?
