In the next few months I am going to be a) building an A4LD for a video, and b) building a 4R70W for a video and a thread here. I have no use to retain either transmission. I'd rather rebuild them to suit and sell them to someone than build them and have them sit. Frankly I was going to do a "good enough" (by my standards) rebuild on the A4LD, and a full out durability rebuild on the 4R70W, at least that was my plan. I'd rather presell them and build them to suit....
So the Q is, anyone interested?
Price on the A4LD would depend on the "to suit" aspect.... the 4R70W I really would like to make it full out STRONG and would price accordingly...(e.g. at least Raptor DOMINATOR quality). I do not want to use this site as some commercial endeavor, I do not want to be in the "business"... but would like to build and get rid of these to finish my goal of threads and DVD's for people to use to do theirs..... especially the older first Gen a4LD crowd.
So all that said... I am open to ideas
ps. Guarantees are hard to live by when you ship a trannie far away, but I would expect to make some promises to stand by, somehow. Plus, you'd get a video of your trannie being built!
And ok, for you 4R70W freaks.. here are some of my ideas... NEW valve body, NEW "mechanical diode", NEW pump, upgraded clutch packs to max out the plates...all Red Eagle... treated Kolene steels throughout, Fairbanks kit, Valve body Mods, Kevlar band and oversize OD band, upgrades to VB pressure regulator, spiral ring upgrade kit, "A"servo for OD, New torringtons throughout, extreme duty cryogenic intermediate shaft..... and more. Attention to detail. Put THAT behind 600 HP!!
