I finally got everything up and running. im still keeping my eye on the fluid levels. Theyre still dropping so im assuming that the fluids circulating cause I dont have any leaks. My question is this, I have a flare every now and then. Its not all the time only when I give it alot of gas. I know that the computer has to relearn all of this shifts but I want to know if that flare is normal? For those that dont know I had to rebuild my trans. I burnt up the frictions in the overdrive drum. While I had everything taken apart I went ahead and installed the sonnax boost valve, sonnax end plug kit, and superior shift kit. Why is it still flaring from 2nd to 3rd? Could it have something to do with the fluid levels?? Or is it still something internal?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

ok new update. I just checked the fluid again. Its a little bit high, and now I hear a squeak. it almost sounds like a bearing is going out???

LOL ok new update... Ive noticed that in OD my rpms are lower then they used to be and everything shifts fine even with fast acceleration with OD turned off. So what does that mean? How come everything is normal with OD off and not on?

When you stated that you took everthing apart I assume you disassembled the Vb completely and examined all the bores/spools/springs for damage. Did your VB have the OEM modification kit in it already and revised seperator plate?

By taking everything apart I mean the whole damn thing. VB and internal gears, clutches, drums, bands, all that. My VB had the OEM kit already installed. I also installed the boost valve kit, Sonnax end plug kit, and the superior shift kit. I also had to replace the frictions and steels in the OD drums and also the OD band. I read in one of Glaciers threads that the EPC is very responsive to sludge and shavings and what not. Well the reason I had to replace the frictions and steels is because they got burned up. And I did have to clean a bunch of shavings off of the sep. plate. So should I go ahead and replace the EPC? I still have that flare and glacier said that the way to fix that is to rebuild the vb which ive done and also to replace the EPC which I havent yet. So it looks as if thats my way out??

REPLACE THE EPC, absolutely.

But wait a few days before you do anything, I may have an alternative for you. I'm still waiting on a final word.

AWESOME!! MAN GLACIER!!! Youre the man. If youre not already I think you should open up your own business in the transmission field. You always go that extra mile to make sure that we always get our trannys fixed and to make sure we do all we can do to prevent future mishaps. I know if you were to charge for your services that they would be worth every penny!!! Ill be waiting to see that alternative you may have for me!!! Are all the sep plates that have the gaskets bonded to them all the same part number? Because I think im going to go ahead and replace that too. If its not too much trouble could you send me the part number for the sep plate that has the gaskets bonded please??? THANKS AGAIN GLACIER!!
