After searching this forum relentlesly for seems like forever, I've decided to post this question. Im needing new tires and have decided to go with Toyo Open Country A/T. I have a stock 98 Explorer Sport and was wanting to go with a 265/75/16 but im worrying about fitment issues. A little help please ?

As long as the tire fits an alows for full suspension motion without hiting the fenders you should be altright.
if you look online they give the tire dimensions and just measure your fender wells and see if they permit that size tire

...Click on the "How to" in my signature..;)

I would think they'll fit okay, seeing as they're roughly 32x10.50's and 31x10.50's should fit stock. The only thing I can think of is the extra plastic in the wheel well. But if it touched, worst case, dremel out some plastic inside the wheel well. You won't ever see it in there anyway.
Make sure your tire shop will mount them though. Some places won't touch any explorer with tire sizes that don't match the door jamb. Still getting grief from the old firestone issue, it's bs. Discount tire wouldn't even rotate the 31's I had on my wife's explorer. However they would rotate/balance/whatever my 33's on my Explorer Sport Trac with no issues.

Thanks Guys. They have both 265/75 and 265/70 in stock, i know the 70 series will fit no problem but i really like the 75 series, it looks better and surprisingly cheaper. just wanted to make sure and have a second opinion.

You should be fine seeing as the 70 or 75 is the percentage of the tire width. There is only 1.04" difference in the two. If you can clear the 70 fine, you'll be good to go on the 75. It's when you start going from a difference of 31" to 33" that you should worry.
