...but I might be a little different... I don't own an Explorer...YET!!!! Just starting to browse around because as soon as I finish my 5.0/T5 swap in my 68 Cougar I am going to go on the hunt for a CHEAP explorer to build into a new wheelin rig.

My K5 that I had for years before parting out... she had a dually D60/dually D70, locked front and rear, stretched wheelbase, reverse xover high steer, hydro assist, full cage, 350/4spd/205, and had been beaten and abused for years...
Then after parting out the K5 I built this runner in 2 weekends... it had a FI 22RE, 5spd, dual cases, SAS, locked front and rear, Ford 57's in rear, Yota rears in the front, Warn 8274, and Michelin 11.00R16 XZL's (a little taller than a 39.5 TSL)... got bored with this so I sold it to fund my Cougar project...

and this is my Bronco that I just bought for a driver...
SOOOOoooooo, long story short is, as soon as my Cougar is done I am going to find a CHEAP Explorer w/ either a blown engine/tranny/etc... and put in a 302 with a ZF5spd and a BW t-case, do a solid axle swap, and run a full width D44 and a 9" w/ a tire somewhere between a 36"-38" range. Of course it will be locked front and rear, and either have injection or propane.
