hey guys- just got back from the dyno. 285rwhp and 284ft/lbs of torque. not to bad. but its AWD so I dont know how accurate that is... i am going out to install the front drive shaft and see how well i can smock the tires-
needs a shift kit bad though and a new intake with heads-

Power

When I had the sam set up in my truck I made 298 hp and 345 lbs. torque but that was with a 2 wd explorer. The 4 wheel drive transfer case must be hurting your torque bad.

PUR PONY, I know this is a little off topic, but your truck kicks some serious ass!!! I love those rims so much you wouldn't understand!! LOL

Did you ever have a problem putting those rims on your truck, with the offset and all, and what about the width of the tire, doesn't that rub your inside fender?

thanks alot- i love it too.

the tires and rim combo fit pretty well. In the rear I did have to beat the inner fender just a little with a hammer to stop the slight rubbing. I could of just used a spacer but it was just rubbing a hair and i wanted to keep as much tire in the fender then sticking out.

for the front i did have to use a 3/8 wheel spacer.

other then that no problems with rubbing what so ever.
I also have it lowered with the explorer express kit.
 






nice #s guys.. heh, I'm actually alittle afraid to see what kinda #s I'd get.. all those accessories I've added will do nothing but drop HP.. and I'm already lucky to squeeze the stock 210 or so out of the thing.. I hate to say it but ford did a bad job on the stock 5.0 and its HP ratings for the explorer.
 






I really love your truck. I hope you don't mind I put it on my Photopoint account w/ some of the best looking trucks I've found. Congats on the power. I would really like that much power. What size/kind tires and rims are you running? Also, how much is it lowered?

Actually that is a pretty sweet ride. Maybe w/ some better pictures you can submit it w/ a $30 application fee in hopes of becoming "cool" JK Seriously, your Mountaineer looks really smooth.
Yeah, I wish I could blow these scholarship checks on a supercharger, but then I wouldn't eat for the rest of the semester and would get evicted- hey, it might be worth it.

The rims I have are real chrome cobra R's 17x9
the tires are Pirelli Scorpion Zero's 275/55/17

I was also wondering whats the website address for the photopoint page with all your cool trucks...

dude I was just wandering why you had so many gauges in your truck and which ones you had. Troll's Truck has 500 rear wheel hp and he only has a boost gauge in the ash tray you cant even see. doesn't it give away some of the stealth look or some thing.

I am now taking bets on who is going to win(Troll). it would be pretty cool to get to gather and race since some of us don't do the 4x4 off road thing. I am pretty sure troll will win the race but it will be fun seeing all the other hotroded explorers out their.
 






the reason for the gauges- I dont know.... i just like them. besides I hate factory gauges.
I have a boost, fuel pressure, oil pressure, and water temp.

you should see my stang... I have 9 aftermarket gauges... and I am installing 4 more.. the the factory speedo and tach area...

ya- a get togther would be cool. are you all from flordia? I may have my truck down there next winter(JAN)
My dad lives in West Palm in the winter and I may drive down to see him and check out moroso.


Hey Troll: got a question.... what are you running for a tranny? stock with a shift kit or new vavle body... my tranny seems to slip a little... if Im on the highway and running 65-70 and STEP on it...it free revs to 4K before the tranny shifts.... I am looking into a Lentech valve body but its not going to be out for another month.
The stock tranny is a AODE- right?

who and where did you get your hood. I have been looking for one for 2 yrs now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 






since talking to Troll is pretty much the same as talking to me here it goes. we made the hood custom we expect to be selling copies buy the summer. it is your preference about the gauges me and troll have all ways been low key about it. we have a 1000 hp turbo mustang and it only has 5 after market gauges. Troll is getting oil pressure and fuel pressure soon because I am making him. I am the one who made him get the boost one to begin with. we live in Miami if you come down we will have a big old party no hold bars. I would like to see some other fast explorers may be we can ad some stuff while you are down. we know some tricks that would help you out. oh Troll has a built Tranny from level 10. I would recommend a shift kit from baumman engineering it is the same one I put in quad cams truck. when your tranny goes let me know I will help you out in getting you one built to hold and yes it will go.
 






about the hood- what will the price be? I have a guy local that "says" he can make me one but im not to sure.

also... would the baumman engineering shift kit be as good as a lentech valve body??? they are still in the stages of making one- should be out with in a month for the AOD-E.... what the price on the baumman???

Hmmm, Hot Rod X Event.....

As far as competing with Pur Pony goes, it's a close call. I only have 200 rwhp, but probably weigh about 1000 lbs. less. We'd really need to compare 1/4 mile times. Also, I live in Texas, so a road trip to FL isn't in the near future. However, next year I might have to go to FL for my work with NASA. I might ask them if I can drive....we'll see. Drive my truck for 3 days each way or ride in a NASA leerjet, hmmmm.

As for gauges, I'm getting a vac/boost gauge and an A/F ratio gauge. My stock dash is doing pretty well with the temp gauges. I might add some more gauges later, but for now I'm going to stick those two in the console right below the A/C controls. I like that location better than the Apillar.

Oh, about drag racing, I only have 3.27 gears which are killing my launches. Oh well, I can still smoke 'em pretty well.
