Just bought a 1998 Eddie Bauer explorer. 5.0 excellent shape.

I just bought a 1998 Eddie Bauer with 5.0! I specifically looked for it. As I understand it, they are basically an f150 with Explorer body. I love it. Gonna restore it especially since it is in such good condition. Now my husband and I can match since he has a ranger. Gonna paint them to match. Hope to get some good info since I will be doing suspension soon.

Welcome to the forum! Yes there is plenty of suspension info in the 2nd gen stock, and modified forums depending on which way you want to go.

welcome to EF! iirc the 5.0 is a 1/2 ton motor and the 4r70w is a 3/4 ton tranny, plenty tough! so is the 8.8 31 spl.

Thanks for info on motor,tranny. Only issue is front sway bar end link needs replaced. Easy fix but i will probably replace everything like I did on 93 ranger for my husband.
