Just bought a 2006 XLS sport pkg, few questions?

Anybody know where to get a cargo mat for the 06, most places tell me they don't have any for 06.

What would be a good price also, my dealer can get one from Ford for 140 bucks?

Also is the airbag light above the cd player suppost to go on and off at times?

its not supposed to on and off randomly. When the vehicle is turned on, it should come on, then extinguish with the rest of the lights.

Thats what it normally does but for some reason it turned on when I was almost at work today..... I'll have to keep an eye on it.

I dunno if the 06 airbag light is a similar problem like the 2nd gen's. Do a search, there is a connector under the seats that you can jiggle a bit, for some reason a short or something causes the airbag light to come on and stay on. Mine usually happens after I have the interior cleaned at the carwash and they move the seats all the way forward or back,disturbing that connector. Anyone discover the cause or find a permenant fix?

That can be the case cause I dropped something under my seat and I was trying to get out and was moving things around under there.

I'll post some pics soon, I have to clean it up a bit, its been storming like crazy here in Chicago the last few days...

I know what you mean about the features, I like the clean look of the XLS without the big crome grill and black on the bottom. I plan on changing alot myself, Im in the process of doing a nice CD/DVD system and change a few odds and ends including wheels...

Are you setting something on that passenger seat and or using the seatbelt to hold something light there?

If so that A/B light will come on due to "concerns" over a smaller person or child the system "thinks" is sitting there.

I put my gym bag there on my way in to work, I don't belt it in or nothing...

Try placing on floor or back seat/cargo area and see if light stops coming on, my bet it's heavy enough for the A/B light to be triggered.

Thats probably the reason, its never went off when no one was sitting there or nothing on the seat.

yeah, i'm a mustang guy too


My first mustang which I sold for the 95 and regret because they people who own it now tore it up alittle IMO but the car runs 11.50's at 118 on motor.

Of course my current mustang, ailttle dirty in that pic but you get the idea....also have some prostars but no pics and it's not worth of keeping them on there anyway. Just finished putting a tremec in there over the AODE a couple days ago....got to start somewhere.

I can't help you with the cargo mat but the airbag lights confused me for a while as well. Then I found that it is enabling and disabling the passenger airbag based on who is sitting there. If its a small child, the light will stay on. If its an adult, the light will go out after coming on briefly after starting the car. If the light isn't behaving like that, the car is new enough to take back to the dealer and have them figure it out.

Very nice, mine went 11.2 on just boost, never ran at the track with the 50 shot but it was strong, 50 shot on boost came out to be 7? more rwhp.

I ended up ordering the mat online for way cheaper then the dealer.

My bag was the problem, I noticed it again on the way to the gym yesterday.
