Hi everyone.

I found this site searching for information on the mysterious "clunk" that was emanating from my '91 Explorer's steering wheel.

I found a nice FAQ describing exactly what the problem was, and a way to fix it. So thanks, everyone!

I've got two Explorers. One is the '91 and the other is a '96.

Both of them are like black holes or giant magnets that attract errant vehicles.

My '91 has been hit by one errant driver while parked in front of my house, then was struck by my neighbor with his snow blower (breaking out the right tail-light and denting the lift gate. Then I was hit from behind while in the drive through at a Burger King, and most recently, an 18 wheeler decided to make an unannounced lane change into me, his front bumper/cow-catcher hitting the left rear of the vehicle.

The 96 was hit by a kid from down the street while parked in front of my house, and then hit by a neighbor of my mom's while parked in front of her house!

Is there some kind of blessing or "cleansing" (perhaps a burning of sage and treatment with holy water, etc.) that would exorcise the demons, poltergeists, or other unholy spirits that seem to plague these two otherwise fine vehicles?

Mechanically, they've been very decent vehicles considering their ages and mileage. But they seem to draw in and attract out-of-control drivers from a wide radius. Perhaps I should paint them both with alternating yellow and black stripes with the reflective glass beads in it, and mount constantly flashing amber caution lights all over them.

Anyhow. Just call me Mr. Lucky, I guess.
