It was a real PITA, but hand tools was all I had. Used a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter to remove the drain plug. Could have pumped out the fluid from the fill plug, but that would have been too easy. Was able to get a large adjustable wrench on the 3/4" part of the adapter (no room to get a ratchet in there,) and get it into the drain plug. On my back, with both feet on the wrench, I was able to budge the plug, it was really tight, then it was just more muscle to get the plug out. Filling it was a piece of cake.
Even though I probably could have gone the life of the vehicle without ever doing it, I got the Ex second hand and when I changed the front fluid, it didn't look too good....and either did the rear. The oil was grey looking. There was a little bit of paste on the magnet. So overall I'm glad I did it.
