Sorry, new to this car. Is it possible I disconnected the throttle position sensor? Car starts up but when i try to rev I get nothing! Thanks

* It worked last night the first time I started it back up, but after I put everything back and started it up again this problem started.

* I suspect this is alarm/security related since the red light on the dash is blinking red, faster than usual.

I suppose it's possible, perhaps you should check.
Sorry, we don't magically know the answer...

I think you know what I mean smarty. Is there a throttle related component under the dash that could have been knocked loose while working on the blend door?

What was your approach on replacing the blend door, did you follow a tutorial or just go at it with all you had? haha.

check at the top of the throttle pedal arm, see if the cable is hooked up. bet thats what it is.

Even if you messed up the TPS connection under the hood (not sure how you would have done that) the rpms will still move with the throttle.

The Throttle on the 1st gen is cable operated. My guess is your throttle cable is not connected at the pedal (more likely) or not at the throttle itself. The other possibility is that your broke the cable itself (not likely, but possible).

What year?

So its a 2004 xlt. I followed an online tutorial. I checked the cable right by the pedal and it is connected. Its a mystery to me. Especially since it worked fine as I checked to see the heat was working just before I put the dash back together. I didnt even mess with anything under the hood.

Hrm, 2004. I see 1994 in your profile so my post may be way off.

However, afaik, the 2004 is not drive by wire and if im reading what you say is happening correctly, pushing the gas pedal is having "no affect". If that is the case then step 1 is to make sure the gas pedalnis still connected to the throttle plate.

Definitely, was the first thing I checked.

Does your tbody look like this?

See pictures below...If it does, you have a drive by wire system...I believe the DBW system started with the 04 Explorer...

Since there is no throttle cable, I bet the transducer on the throttle pedal bracket needs to be reconnected...

Car does not start at all but everything else (lights etc) works fine. The pats light blinks rapidly when I turn the key to start position. I tried pulling the pats fuse and replaced. Still nothing.

You could have forgot a wiring connector or it could be a tsb from Ford about reprogramming pcm and programming the keys back to pcm. Here is the tsb.
