Ok, I just bought the Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD.. and was wondering how to do the MP3 deal, I made a data disc with mp3's, put it in the player and it said it was an un-readable disc... Does anyone know how to record MP3's to a disc, or if I have to use a certain program or do a certain thing? Thanks in advance.

Yep, thats all you have to do. Burn as a data disk. The only thing i can think of is that you need to close your disc after burning. You don't need a particular cd burning program. Mp3s work great in my 750 mp!

Make Sure that you are not using a CD-RW just a plain old CD-R. Also make sure that you orgnize your files in folders on the CD. Nothing worse than flipping through 200 songs.

I have no problem with playing mp3s on CD-RW's

are you sure that the receiver can read mp3s? not all radios can read the mp3 file format. when you create a basic music cd, your computer automatically decompreses the mp3 into .wav format which pretty much any cd player can read.

Most burning programs have a "make mp3 CD" option. Try that.

Maybe you need to make an audio cd, and not a data cd. What burning program do you have?

Not to jack this thread but when I saw someone mention musicmatch..and I am really debating whether to get it or not. I have a question though....once you download a song and you record it. Is there a limit to how many times you can record it? Are the songs yours forever or a limited time?

Thanks in advance

I made a data disc with mp3's
He already made a data cd, and it claimed it was unreadable. I make audio mp3 cd's for my cd player.

I know this is basic but is the cd scratched up or scuffed badly? I know with my pyle mp3 player if the cd is bad it is unable to read it.

ok, I think it was to simple to see. I tried with Ahead Nero, and also with musicmatch, and musicmatch is much more user friendly, for sure. It is however an audio MP3 disc, not a data disc, you just click another tab and its that simple. However.. for some reason by dvd/cd-rw drive(the computer) says that for cd-text, its unsupported. I dont know if that means I cant search for songs by title. On my dvd player in my car, it has an option to search by the title, AKA it lines up all the songs in alphabetical order. There are a lot of options in musicmatch that I am trying out now, so hopefully it works and sets it up so I can do it this way. As someone said before, its not fun to flip through 150+ songs, lol... I have 2 that I do that with now, until I figure out a better way. Thanks for your help! A question that someone may be able to answer... If my drive doesnt support cd-text, is there upgrades I could download for it that would make it support it, or any other options?

MP3 discs are always DATA.

You can roll your eyes all you want but the fact remains that no matter WHAT your burner program wants to categorize MP3 cd's as, they are in fact DATA cd's created using either the ISO or Joilet data file standard. Audio CD's are created using the Red Book audio file system. Also, I am using Nero Burning Rom 5.5.9.17 (The full version NOT Express) and when I make MP3 cd's it creates them under DATA.
