Just installed: P275/70R16 Dueler A/T REVO tires

Hey guys, quick question::
What exactly are the differences between P265/75R16 and P275/70R16???
Ex:
Which are taller
Which are wider
Which look more aggressive
etc.

Tires is kind of a big investment for me cause im still in college so i dont want to make the wrong choice.

Im only running off of a TT/Shackle lift (and i plan to get new leaf packs for the rear since i have 98 sport). You guys have any rubbing problems? I talked to someone who has the P275 w/out a lift and he only had slight rubbing.

Thanks a lot.

BTW: i was planning on getting the Duelers also.

The 265/70 isa bit taller and thinner then the P275/70R16. My tires do not rub and I think the 265/75 require a bit of trimming in front to make them fit. I think overall both tires will have the same look since the different in height and width is minimal. I sent in the film for processing yesterday. Pics sometime after the new year since I don;t have access to a scanner until then.

So what exactly do the #'s represent? ( P 255 / 70 R 16 )? <--- thats my stock tire now. I know the last number is the rim diameter. what is the 255 and the 70? And im looking to go for more height- i want it to look like i have more tire under there because theres too much space now, which do you guys prefer? the P275/70R16 or the P265/75R16 ????

Thanks

The 275 is width. The 70 is the height.
i think that the 275/70 is ideal because it is a hare shorter then the 265/75 and does not rub on the fenders, thus no trimming is necessary. Plus it is a little wider and they really fill up the wheel well nicely. I just got the pics back from the store today. I will scan them in when I go back to school in a week and a half.

What tire do you guys prefer between the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S or the Bridgestone Deuler AT Revo's?
(i have the wranglers now- like them a lot. i just did the lift so now i want larger tires and was thinking about the deulers. should i change or just get larger wranglers?)

Aslo- about the deulers....im looking at tirerack.com::: whats the difference in the load ratings? Why is 1 Deuler with a load rating of LS $103 and the one with a load rating of C is $120??

Thanks
Matt

the higher load rating just means it can withstand more pressure and can support a higher load (also means it is stiffer and mor eharsh in most cases) I jusu got the standard load ones

Oh as for the question Wrangler AT/S Vs. Dueler REVO. I do nto thnk many will be ablw to make that comparison since I am the first on the board to actusally buy the REVO I think.
All I went by was the ratings on tirerack's site. the REVO scored much higher then the AT/S

Whats the standard load rating? I might just be blind but i couldnt find a chart on tirerack with the ratings. And i just have a 98 sport and the most i usually tow is a 4000lb boat......standart load tires are fine right?

standard load for the Dueler A/T REVO is 2,601 lbs each and the standard load on the AT/S is 2,503 each. I think any tire is around that same area. They finally got some rteader reviews up on the Dueler REVO's on tirerack's site and each one of them experianced the same I did..they all said best tire they have had and I fully agree. One guy compared these to the BFG All-terrain and said the bridgestone is quieter and grips better. It does not suprise me.

Post Winter update on the Revo?

Howdy 01EB5.0,

Now that winter is over, how are the Revo's doing so far? How many miles you put on? I am curious with the dual layered uni-t and how it is holding up in the lower have of life.

thanks,
Jeff

I just got my 275/60/17 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires and mounted them on my Mustang GT split 5-spoke rims but I haven't installed them on the X yet. The reviews on tirerack.com said it was a good tire and price was good too.

Camm0n,
The REVO's have about 17,000 miles on then now and are still doing great. i have not worn down to the "second layer" of tread yet, in fact I think it will take me another 10,000 to get there. These tires are excellent, and wear very well. the treadwear rating is 500, which is very good...means they will last for a while. Noise is still not any more then any other All season tire i have had. Rain, snow, mud, sand, these do it all and do it batter then any of my past tires. My boss just had a set of these Revo's put on his truck and said the differece between these tires and the old BFG All-terrain KO's he used to have it like night and day. He said the Revo's are much quiter and have a supirior tread pattern. i have never used the BFG All-terrain, but it has been a popular tire of the past...but it's downside (from what people have asid) is it is noisy and sort of rough. The Revo has none of those attributes, not to mention the Revo's are a lot cheaper. SO far I am very happy with these tires and when they do finally wear down, I will most definatly buy another set. Just be sure if you buy these...be sure you get the Dueler A/T Revo. The regular Dueler AT isn;t as good i do not believe.
Se emy pics in my photo gallery to see what they look like, Any other questions..ask!

The Revo's are better than expected

Hey all,

From all my homework this is the best tire on the AT truck market so I bought a set. AWSOME, noise is heard at low speeds like parking lots. It is a nice sublte deep rumble very cool, it DOES goes away at highway speeds very cool. I went out and played this weekend with these in the MTNs of Colorado it was raining and I went up a very steep grade with rounded rocks all slimy from the mud and other trucks passing. Did not spin once. The Goodyear RTSs I would not have even tried(slipping and breakage would likly have occured) 35 PSI on the explorer is great, corners good, brakes good, comfy ride. 31x10.5x15s make a very nice footprint and look cool as well. Well I am off to play so more BIG SMILE
