A few weeks ago I came on here and asked about installing new speakers up front in my X. A couple of you guys said to go with some components so I decided to go with these Infinity Reference 505cs speakers. I put a 50W X 2 Kenwood amp on them and man it made a world of difference, even over the JBL premium sound package (those things are crap).

I used to have to turn my volume up to 25 on my Kenwood HU just to hear my speakers over my sub. Now the max I can turn them up to is 20 before my ears start to hurt. Thanks again for your suggestion and I would recommend a set of components to anyone on their next install.

component sets make a huge difference. much better sound quality.

Yup, I just switched the front from RF 5x7s to JL 5.25/1" components. They're still powered off the HU, but they sound a whole lot better, even than the premium speakers that were an upgrade from stock.
