Just ordered Magnaflow Catback for my '06 EB

I've been a good boy and received a nice bonus, now I'm thinking about installing the Magnaflow exhaust. Can anyone tell me if there is a BIG sound difference? I hate to wake up the neighbors with it.

It looks like prices have jumped up! A few months ago this exhaust could be found for $400 pretty regularly, but not the cheapest I have found it is $450! What the heck.

Mine is on the way from Planet Magnaflow.com for $349 and free shipping with coupon code "theplanet" just like that with no space. I have Magnaflow on my F150 and LOVE it so I have no question we will love it on the V8 EB Ex.

thanks for the info, truly appreciate it. yeah 370 will be the cheapest i found it. anyone found any cheaper? please let me know.

did u get dual or single magnaflows. I got dual 40 series flowmasters on my 01 sport and it sounds loud and deep.

Nvm. :)

Ya know, if you pair up that magnaflow system with the K&N air intake system you'll have the whole deal. Ample air in and lots of unrestricted flow out. This packge seems to be the real deal as far as I've researched so far. The next step is the hypertech programmer and the project is complete.

orson u got a sound clip of the magnaflow exhaust on ur x

I just ordered my cat back from Planet Magnaflow http://www.planetmagnaflow.com/

I was doing the make an offer thing and it seemed that the lowest they wanted to go was $388.00 for part #16606. While filling out the form I entered the discount code theplanet and it gave me an extra 10% off for a total of $349.20.

Bummer, they found out about the double dipping and won't let you use the discount code with the make an offer so the price is back to $388.00.

Today was install day. Removal of the old exhaust wasn't bad. A sawzall and fresh blades make life much easier. Air tools also make life much easier also. For the removal I cut the stock exhaust in front of the rear axle as high as I could safely reach. This made it easier to roll the tail pipe out when it was disconnected. All of the stock rubber hangers are reused so don't ruin them in any way. In order to get the pipes out of the hangers I just cut the mushroom cap off and slid the bar out. There was no way I was going to try and pull the mushroom through backwards. That would be like boating in reverse. The pointy end goes through much easier.

As for the install it was all just bolted together. Loosely at first so you can make clearance adjustments then tighten it from front to back making sure to keep your clearances.

Sound levels are good. When you are on it you will know it. If you are just cruising along and letting the truck shift at 2500 rpm it is pretty quiet. MPG's came right back to where they were but it is hard too actually tell if they are increased or not because of course I wanted to hear the exhaust so the 2500 rpm sfifts were out of the question. Install took a couple of hours with a lunch break so it was an enjoyable afternoon in the garage all alone with the motorcycle stereo donating the music for the day. (Battery needs to be disconnected in the X for the computer to relearn)

If you want a sound clip you can see and hear it here.

Just pretend it is my Dark Cherry Explorer and not theirs.

Here's a quick tip for anyone installing this exhaust system. When you finally decide to take the plunge and put it on, a couple of days before install, crawl underneath and spray some WD40 or silicone spray lube on those rubber grommets where the hangars go thru. Do it again the night before you do the install. We did this when I installed a magnaflow system on my buddy's chevy about a month ago and the hangars slid out like butter. No cutting, no messing around. Worked s*#t hot!

Any one done an exhaust on the v6? if so did it sound good?

Hey wharriso! did you get the magnaflow exhaust already? I have the magnaflow 16606 just installed and I just love it, they are cheaper on ebay but I wanted a warranty(salt in winter kills an exhaust) so I got it here magnaflow 16606, or you can try one of the vendors here, they are always running sales/specials. either way its a great system and very easy to install.

I just ordered a Magnaflow for my 07 EB V8. I debated between the Magnaflow vs. the Gibson, but decided to save a few bucks and go with the Maganflow. Let you know what I think when it comes in.

Sorry sounds nothing like my 07 Mustang GT/CS
