No major problems right now, just wondering the integrity of the truck.
1-The transmission shifts just fine, the fluid is a little dark, and doesn't smell burnt.
2-Sometimes I hear a strange rattling noise...I can only hear it when I'm next to a wall and it isn't always there, a/c on or off doesn't make a difference. 3-Since I've had the truck it vibrates around 55-60 normally unless theirs a load then the vibration moves.
4-I changed the leaking thermostat housing with o'Reilly's parts but it still leaks where the 2 sensors go into.
5-when i was on vacation in hilton head the power steering stopped working one day and the steering became very tight and stopped making noise. I couldn't turn the wheel more than 90 degrees when stopped. I put lucas power steering fluid in and its back to normal. not sure if its fixed for good though

should I be worried about taking this truck on trips? I've had her since 158k, and so far its been to new jersey and back (800 miles one way) on the way back the bed was loaded overfull, hilton head island (3 hour ride), myrtle beach(4 hour ride), and beaufort (3 hour ride) with a trailer with 2 jet ski's and one ski in the bed. do i need to start looking for another road trip truck or does this still have life in it? my biggest concern is the transmission, even though it hasn't given me any problems.

Rattling might be timing chains...mine have been screaming at me. My power sterring is tight as well. Might be worth it to change the pump. My pump has sat in my truck to months and I have yet to put it in. I was also told a new belt may help. the vibrations are real normal for me too. other than that it seems your trac is where mine is right now.
