- 2009 Escape XLT
Finally traded in my '99 Explorer XLT for an '09 Escape XLT.
The old Explorer was starting to get buggy, as a 13 year old car usually does.
4X4 lights flashing, airbag light would come on with hot weather.
The occasional CEL. Gas mileage dropping rapidly.
I found this beauty with only 34K on the clock.
Man, was I impressed when I floored it for the first time. More pick up than the '84 Mustang GT I used to own.
240 HP? Very impressed.
Brakes are amazingly good.
Only have owned if for a week, but am averaging 20 MPG in rush hour traffic. Can't wait to see what it gets on the highway.
Love the bluetooth and USB port. iPod sounds great. Hands free phone is superb.
It's only FWD, but as often as I used 4X4 on the Explorer, I can do without it, and the gas mileage that goes with it.
Fits in the garage better, too!! LOL!!!
I appreciate all the help and suggestions I received here over the years and wish everyone the best of luck!
