Hello!

What does "gold-plated 4-volt front/rear/subwoofer preamp outputs " mean on the JVC digifine2.2 KD-SH909 head unit?

Will this feature help me and my installation of an amp when i buy one?

Any help would be great! Thanks!

Those are RCA jacks... Gold plated is good, 4 volt is also good. The higher the voltage, the less distortion you will have. 4 volts is pretty standard, some higher-end HUs will have 8 volt preouts. Yes, they will help you with amp installation down the road. Most amps only have low level (RCA) inputs, and if you did not have RCA outputs on the back of your HU, then you would need to buy a line level converter.

Thanks for that info. B94Sport. Appreciate it.

Would I be using these outputs to connect to the amp?

I am working on the setup for my X and am trying to learn the details about installing an amp. How much installation goes with installing an amp and hooking it up to an aftermarket HU and aftermarket door speakers?

Does it connect to the HU, speakers and battery?

Is it a fairly easy installation if I take my time?

Any help or tips on this would be great!

Thanks!

The installation is a simple matter; doing it neat, takes some time. You can do it yourself.

Look at Dead Link Removed they have good installation info. Further, asl specific questions here.

Good luck.....

RCAs are better than line inputs, but wait the me restate that GOOD RCAs are better than line or unbalanced inputs. Most likely the (good) RCAs are shielded (from interference) getting a cleaner signal to the amp.

power to batt
remote to blue wire behind HU
ground to body or frame
RCAs from HU
speaker out to speaker(s)

Yes kids it is just that simple.
