If I can fit it, can I just remove the stock airbox and fasten somehow (ductape, flexible coupling, hose clamps maybe ?) a K&N round filtercharger (that fit an 01 Duramax) filter I have? On my 91 Ex?

Any other things I would have to change or do?

Yeah... I think the only thing is that the MAF bolts directly to the airbox... so you'd have to find some way to mount a piece of pipe or something to the MAF, and then clamp the filter to that...

you can buy an adapter from auto zone for $10 and it looks nice too.

What kind of adaptor? Im guessing the end of the cone filter to the hose(?) or the thing that goes to the throttle body. Do you have a pic?

Can I expect better performance with this filter? To be honest it was real hard to tell if there was a difference when it was on my diesel, but i have it and would like to use it.

Search on K&N, filter, KKM......You will get all the posts that you need to about this subject.
