Hey guys,
I found a great deal on a sightly used K&N FIPK for my 2000 xls, but my explorer is OHV and the Kit according to its serial number is supposed to be for the SOHC , So would it fit on my OHV engine, even with some tiny modifications ?

Cheers.

what kinda price was it at bud? i have a SOHC and looking for a decent priced K&N Cold Air Intake.....

Any last minute advice before i go ahead and buy it ?

Come on guys , i know someone can help me with this dilema !

actually yes i can, i bought an fipk from a friend off his sohc ranger for about 40 bucks but the intake pipe does not even come close to lining up. what you can do is use the little stock intake pipe and bolt the filter and all that stuff onto the MAS but it doesnt look near as cool :(

*edit* the throttle body on Sohc is at an angle towards the air box, OHV come straight out

Ahh finally someone came to the rescue !

Well, does that mean that the intake pipe wont fit at all ? even with some bending ?
i dont care about the looks , i only care about the performace/fitting .

Thanks.

The bend in the SOHC is ~45degree angle and the bend in the OHV is 90, best bet is to get the one made for the OHV unless its just that cheap and you want to try and fabricate something up.
