Hey fellas,

I plan on doing my intake on my 93 Explorer and I was wondering if anyone has a part number or knows what type of setup I should order.

Thanks,

Leo

there are 3 main things you could do.

1) buy a k&n filter which will just drop in to replace the stock filter element. This runs between 40 and 50 dollars but will never really need to be changed. It will have to be cleaned and re-oiled though. This is CARB approved.

2)buy a k&n FIPK. This will replace your filter and housing. It is less restrictive than the stock filter and housing. It is an open element set-up and will need to be re-oiled and cleaned periodically. This is CARB approved which means that you can keep it on for inspections even in California. This causes the price to be more than the KKM

3)buy a KKM tru-rev kit. This is similiar to the k&n FIPK. It gives you an increase in acceleration. You can feel it in the seat of your pants. It will replace the stock air filter and housing and is an open element setup. This is cheaper than the k&n FIPK but is not CARB approved which means that you can't pass inspections in some states including California with this attached. If this is the route you take then be sure to keep your stock housing so you can put it back on for inspections

Hope this helps

Where can I order a KKM tru-rev kit??

I live in Canada, so its a lil easier for mods like this..not restrictive like california thats for sure! :)

Thanks,

Leo
