What's the best air filter (system)? Do you think it would make any difference on a stock 94?

I just ordered mine. KKM for $103 shipped. I will be receiving it this Tuesday. Most members here recommend this over K&N. I will find out for myself if the rage is true. :)

i can tell you from experience that a K&N wont do squat. you are best with a cone intake (ie KKM) and a new tube. ifab.net has some kits for like 180 that have the tube, MAF adapter and filter, or you can get a KKM for like 90 (incl MAF and filter) and make your own tube or buy a tube for like 130 from ifab. the filter that KKM uses is a re-usable filter like a K&n but the cone design will give you better sound, pickup, and milage than a drop-in K&N.

look below for the pic of a KKM kit. note, for now i have a stock tube but i will be getting a newer, more open one.

MAF included? Is that the housing only or the black module on top of it as well? I don't want any surprises when I get it on Tuesday... I don't want anything missing at same time...

sorry, i was a little vague. that would be tha MAf adapter (your MAf is square and the cone is round). that also insludes the filter and mounting hardware. you can buy just the adapter plate, and get your own flter and with a few small pieces of metal make brackets and then make a new tube ith PVC, but if you are looking for the best setup for a 91-94, just go to ifab.net and get the whole kit. then, you can get a granelli (sp) MAf for another couple hundred and a 66mm throttle body for a little mor and have one hellova setup. ifab also sells the adapter, filter, and tubing on e-bay for 180. search ford 4.0

That looks pretty cool but I have a '97. I doubt they have that for me. I do know EE has one.

this says it will fit 95-00 4.0. do you have the sohc? i know K&N makes a FIPK2 for the sohc engines, and i have seen intakes for all model ex's

look on ebay, that stuff is always on there

Damn, man! Why does everything come up AFTER I placed my orders? So that picture is the iFab one for how much? I know K&N FIPK2 is well over $200.

...thats where it was. ttok me less than 30 seconds to find it.

Just put on a K&N Gen 1 FIPK. This way I can keep my rubber hose to keep the heat down. It's a much better system than the KKM and also is CARB approved, notice the CARB decal? Only K&N has them.

...cept they dont make FIPK kits for 1st gens.

The KKM is a quality kit. I'm tempted to buy one of the intake tubes from ifab.net though.

Go with the KKM. Like it was said above, it comes with the adapter plate and it also uses the exact same filter manufacturer as K&N does. They are an S&B high flow cone filter.

Hey explor1 do you know the part number for your K&N filter? I fabricated the adapter for the MAF but I can't seem to find the part # for the K&N
