Hi my truck lately keeps blowing my number 27 fuse. this fuse is my reverse light, rear defog, power lock and my o/d. I am a bit confused with my research on the issue. I can think of one or two things my tranny sensor's or my ecu has gone bad.

Can anyone help direct me with this problem?

Fuse 27

According to my 2000 wiring diagram, fuse 27 (15A) powers the rear window defrost relay, the transmission control switch, the digital transmission range sensor, the daytime running lamps module, the reversing lamp switch, and the parking aid module.

I'd try keeping off the rear window defroster and see if the fuse still blows.

Do you have daytime running lights?

Do you have the parking aid option?

Welcome jose

Thanks for the reply.... I have no day time running lights and it's a negative for the parking aid. I will try the rear defroster and see if it will not blow. I also tried taken the battery off for the whole day and allowed the ecu to reset. It worked for three days and then it started the same thing again

If it's not the Rear Defroster, I would look into the DTRS (Digital Transmission Range Sensor).

They are poorly sealed, and water gets in through the crack in the seam, and they fail.

May sound stupid but If it blows the fuse when the truck is in reverse then maybe you have bad trailer wiring.

If it doesn't blow when the rear defog isn't used then the answer may be there.

If you blow a fuse without using reverse or rear defog then you narrow the issue down a lot.

Since you have to pass reverse to put it in drive and the reverse light comes on momentarily that may throw you off. You can check for amp draw beyond the rating of the fuse from the fuse box while performing several of these operations. You need a amp a meter that can measure that many amps without blowing it's fuse.

I truly thank all you guys, you guys have giving me great answer that i have put to practice and I now am sure that the problem is being narrowed down to my tranny.

Thanks,
Jose
