I have an '02 EB Explorer and have the very common thumping noise from the rear A/C unit. I've researched this form and am convinced that it is caused by a broken blend door or stripped gear on the actuator motor. I have yet to find anyone who has explained what needs to be removed to access these parts. It looks like the second and maybe third row seats need to be removed and the plastic trim panel that extends from the back door to the lift gate. This trim panel has no exposed fasteners that I can see and I don't want to break some plastic part by prying on it. Can anyone please provide me with this info?
