key pad code?

Hi , I just bought a 2001 explorer sport and I cannot find the
key code,I am told its on the rap module,there is nothing in the
jack compartment.any help would be appeciated.

It's pretty far towards the front in the jack compartment. There's a little label on the module. Get a flash light and you should be able to find it.

i also have a 2001 x sport and i couldnt find the code by looking in the jack compartment. a friend of mine has a 99 and his is very obvious, but i think something is different in the 01 sport. am i wrong?

If you open up the jack compartment on the left and look for the metal computer like thing (I beleive its the alarm box but not sure). On mine the the sticker that has the code on it is facing towards the inside of the cab. I ran a mirror between the trim panel and the "alarm box" to get the code. I can't remember how to reprogram it when you get the code. I beleive you enter in the factory code then hit "1" then enter in a 5 digit code you would like to use.

Some other things the buttons do.
If you hit the last two buttons at the same time it will lock the door. If you hit "3" with in 1-2 secounds after entering in the code it will unlock all the doors.

I have the same issue (01 ex spt) I read on here that it is on the pillar behind the passanger seat if not the the back passanger under the trim work. They suggested a flashlight and mirror.

I would just like to add that i found mine....it is wayyyyyyy up in the jack compartment and you have to have small arms and you need to push on the inside of the plastic to see it because its facing outward. I didn't need a mirror, just a flashlight.

That would be correct for a 99. Not so for a 2001 Sport.

I have a 01 sport and just found mine way up in left back jack compartment on the white module facing toward the inside wher eyou can't see it. I had to loosen the module in order to read the label. First i had to take off the black module so I could get to loosen the near side of the white mod in order to bend it so I could see the code.
