Key won't release

Its not a start switch its a key release switch with 2 18 gauge wires coming from it

And right now I have it wedged in there making a connection all the time and I can retrieve the key

Not yet I went to get a push button and the guy at the auto parts store said I need a switch that would hold 50 to 70 amps and said I would need to go to tractor supply to get that button so now I will have to find somebody that would let me borrow a meter strong snuff to measure it

I doubt that the switch in question needs to handle more than 1 amp, more likely much less. probably any momentary switch would work.
