Keycode help (yes, I searched)

Just bought a cherry of a 2001 Sport Trac, and am looking for the factory code to allow me to set my own keyless entry code. Supposedly this is located on the computer.

I searched previous messages, and they all point to the computer being in the jack compartment.

Does this apply to the Sport Trac? I looked by the jack, and I only found the rear window motor, no computer.

The jack compartment is in the drivers side rear quarter panel on the Explorer, and the computer you are refering to is located just in front of the jack access panel behind the trim piece. The sport trac has a pickup bed in the same location, and I doubt that it is located outside of the passenger compartment.

Unfortuneatly I can't help, cause I don't know where it is either.

You are correct ... on the Sport Trac, the jack compartment is directly behind the passenger rear fold-down seat. As stated, no computer found there ... just rear window motor.
