I am having trouble installing a bulldog keyless entry system, the only reason I am installing it is because the driver side key hole no longer works on the outside. I had a couple general questions, the first being, I do not have a RAP module in the back cargo area, is there a way I can install the new unit in the back area? It has wires back there for the door locks, just need to know if there is a constant 12v wire... I really don't care to have the parking lights blink or flash when pressed, I know it says to install it under the dash, however, wouldn't it be easier just to install in the back cargo area?

Im attaching photos of the back cargo area, all the tutorials ive read are assuming you have a RAP module in the back area, which you can see, i do not

in order for us to see your photos, you need to upload them to something like Photobucket and include the link.

it's kinda dumb that it assumes you have a RAP module. if you did, you wouldn't need an aftermarket key-less entry system.

Don't see the benefit of installing it in the cargo area. If it's only keyless entry without the remote start, wiring is easily
accessible under the kick panel. Also, key cylinder or door latch repair is not difficult, just confined and time consuming.

If you can't see the pictures it's ok, it's just of the back cargo area kick panel showing I don't have a RAP module. And yes, it is kinda dumb all the tutorials I have seen assume you have a RAP module.

When you say kind panel, are you referring to the driver side door panel, or underneath the steering column?

The reason I was thinking it would be easier to install in the cargo area is because that's where the stock RAP module's are located...

And my other question would be, are the power locks negative and positive wires accessible underneath the kick panel you refer to as well?

The lock and unlock wires are accessible under the dash behind the side kick panel. However, I just ran wiring to the drivers door switches for lock and unlock. Just me being picky. Keep the box under the dash, it's not large, and can be ziptied on, so don't worry.

Ask if you have anymore concerns/questions. :)

i was thinking, put the whole mess in the driver's door if there's room for the box.

I wired mine the same way for the same reasons, thank you for feedback, did you set yours up so the parking lights would flash as well? I did not hook that up on mine.

I was thinking about doing that, there is a lot of extra wires in the harness not being used

just check to make sure the window will clear it.

My parking lights do flash, wired it to the light switch.
The door trigger is also wired to the light switch dome light trigger wire.
