Keyless entry question

The wife went to Circuit City today and was going to have remote start/KE installed. We just bought the truck and have only 1 key. The previous owner is trying to find the other. The guy at CC said that it has to be a factory key with the chip in it so they could program it and the dealer is probably the only place to get this done. Is this true? If they can't find the other key the dealer is my only option? I know new keys are like $80-85, I think.
Just wondering if anyone knew.

I believe if there WAS two keys originally installed you can do another, i'm not sure if you have to have both. but if you only have one your only route is the dealer as i remember. do a little searching around on this site and you'll find out for sure.

We may have found a place that does them for much less. Hopefully going to check it out today after work.
