keyless remote problems

i have 2 keyless remote pads for my explorer and both have quit working. i put in new batteries and still nothing. i thought maybe i would have to reprogram the remotes and now the explorer will not let me. i have cycled the key 8 times and nothing. is there a fuse somewere or some type of relay that may have blown?

i had the same problem with mine. First make sure that the remotes are transmitting a frequency. I know around here Autozone has a thing to test them. Once I found out that they were transmitting it actually took about 5 times before I could reprogram them.
They both work now.

I dont know if you tried programming a new remote or not but when I did that my other two went dead. Disconnected the battery for like 5 minutes and then they worked again. Worth a shot.
