Hey guys, I know to most that this will be an elementary question, but I'm trying to get started on my first tranny rebuild (A4LD-crap tranny) from a '92 4.0 XLT Explorer. I just can't figure out how this kickdown cable comes off of the ballstud lever. Just afraid of getting rough with it (being I'm a tranny newbie) and breaking it where it adjoins to the actual lever-adding more money to the total cost of the rebuild.
Anyone with the experience already, please let me know what you did to not break the plastic end piece that attaches to the ballstud on the lever. I've tried a few times this weekend. I do have the ATSG manuals. They just don't show or explain how to do so exactly.
Thanks all,
Chris
p.s. on my way to the wallet to become a paid member as I post this. Can't beat paying a measly $20 for invaluable info. (especially that tranny pro that spent his own time creating and posting a tranny rebuild diary)(and of course countless other people on here that help complete strangers ultimately save cash and headaches)
